Little Things: Sarah Week 1

Sarah does not like having her arms swaddled and this morning when I went in to get her she had wiggled one of her arms out her neck hole just to get it free of the swaddle.

Her skin was much more splotchy and red than Anna's at birth; it has cleared up a lot now that we're home but her head is still a bit swollen/mis-shapen on the right side. Her right ear looked a little smooshed the few days after birth, but now looks like it has evened itself out.

She smiles a lot in her sleep and sometimes looks like she is about to laugh.

She wakes up to eat at night where I had to wake Anna for every meal the first couple of weeks. She has slept from 12 AM - 4 AM three times now (once in the hospital, the first night; once on Craig in her room; and last night in her Pack n' Play). I'm not saying she's going to start sleeping through the night early or anything, just letting you know that so far I've gotten a few good stretches of sleep! Since we'll be doing two international trips this summer, I'm not actually hoping for a whole night's sleep until August or September at the very earliest.

George used to have a similar sleep schedule ~11:00 - 4:00. This lasted until he started teething and wanted to nurse more (mainly for comfort). It wasn't too bad of a sleep schedule in my opinion, but I'm sorry to report he didn't sleep through the night for a long time. Also, since he had a good long stretch from 11-4 he was usually up for ~45 minutes at that time.
