Work Finished

I'm still shocked by the lack of crepe myrtles but the they were too close to the foundation.

Celebrating with Pinkberry!

And now we get to watch it all grow!

House Twin

That is not a picture of our house but of our house twin in another part of town. I am dying to know if they've done any remodeling or if they've kept it the same as the previous owners did at our house. I have found another house sibling online but it is flipped and there are some differences at the back and it's blue instead of yellow. The house that is online (for sale) has not done any updates at all (there's was built six years after ours). It makes me wonder how many more are like ours in town?

We will have been in our house one year on Thursday this week so I have been changing all of the gold doorknobs to aged bronze, I added/replaced door stoppers everywhere, and I ordered new lights for above our bed and the stairway. We still haven't decided on lights for the master bath, kitchen, and dining room but I hope we get to it soon. Already with the updated knobs I'm loving our house more!

Upstairs Update

Craig put in a new light above the entry-way. I'm trying to come up with a picture wall above the shelves there (after I get the blog updated that is my next evening project!).

The current state of Sarah's room.

Sarah's room.

She moved the owl stickers to her closet because, apparently, it was annoying her that she didn't put the all up by herself before (Anna had put some on the wall the first time around).

The current state of Anna's room.

More of Anna's room.

Sarah & Henry's bathroom.

We have been here for five months now and it is finally starting to feel like our house. This past week or so I have been reading Sink Reflections by Marla Cilley (the "FlyLady") and it has helped me get motivated on some of the clutter we've built up and get rid of some of the things that we had in storage but weren't sure about, etc. I still have a lot of work to do, but I see hope! It does also really help that Anna & Sarah are gone for big stretches of time so I can clean without them making a bigger mess right behind me. (Henry isn't too big of a mess-maker just yet, thank goodness!)

After

The rooms are finished! We are pleased with all three rooms although I'm a little shocked by the color in the bathrooms just because I'm not used to it. Once we hang up the towel bars, some pictures, etc. though I'm sure it will soften it a bit. The painters did a great job and I am so relieved that it is all done. I don't feel bad that I didn't do it myself at all now. We did take all of the personality out of the kitchen, however, so I'll be on the hunt for the right art to hang on those walls.

I got everyone out the door to go to music camp and not quite half-way there Sarah started throwing up in the car. The poor little thing! I turned around and drove home as fast as I could but I didn't have anything in the car to give her to clean up immediately. I have put baking powder on the car seat and am airing it out but I'm not totally confident it will get all the stink out (I can't take the cover off of the seat).

Anna was a bit disappointed that they didn't get to go to music camp again. Let's hope they make it tomorrow (their last class!).

Painters!

These are the "before" pictures of the upstairs bathrooms. The painter called tonight and asked if it was OK to come tomorrow (we thought they wouldn't be here for another week or more). So tomorrow I have to run out and get paint after I drop the girls at their music class. I'll post the "after" pictures when they are done (should be two days).
