Day 2 Status: Happy!

Anna tucked Pink Noisy Cat into the moses basket while I was nursing Sarah today. Mama Mouse also got wrapped in a blanket.

I told Anna that Sarah liked looking out the window so Anna wanted to look out, too. Turns out Sarah really liked looking at Anna more, this was the longest that Sarah remained content in the bouncy seat yet.

Today was a fantastic day, and not just relative to yesterday. Today went as I had planned yesterday to go in my mind. Sarah woke up at 6 today (I woke her at 7 yesterday) and I put her back down before Anna woke up at 8. Perfect. Then Sarah woke up at 9:45 and I had her back in bed by 11 AM with relatively little effort. I put Anna down for her rest at 1 and then woke Sarah to eat. Put Sarah back down at 2:10 and Anna finished resting at 2:30. I didn't get a nap today but the day overall was so much more relaxing.

What did I do differently? I ended up nursing Sarah to sleepiness each time. Something I totally don't want to get into the habit of doing but I think we're in survival mode until we get settled in Korea this fall so I'm going to try to not worry about "bad" habits until then. The other thing I did for the 11 AM nap was to hold Sarah downstairs for a while and put her in her moses basket until she was asleep then I carried her (in the basket) upstairs and put her in her room so Anna wouldn't wake her. This was much easier than asking Anna to whisper five hundred times in Sarah's room yesterday. Anna just played on her own while I was putting Sarah to sleep.

Hopefully Sarah's night-wakings will work out for a 6 AM start-time again tomorrow and we can get somewhat of a repeat.

So, we had a great day! Everyone is happy and Anna even let Sarah give her a goodnight kiss tonight (this is just moving Sarah's head toward Anna's until they touch, obviously!).

Oh, and to top it off, I made dinner (pancakes) and did two loads of laundry!

We got your birth announcement! Sarah is adorable. Things will get easier with 2 kids, I promise! Then you won't even remember what it was like just having one. Good luck! And by the way, no one has met the couple that moved in your house. They never come outside! We miss ya'll!

Yea! Glad you had a better day. It DOES get better.... I think the first six weeks were the hardest! Your Mom will be there before you know it.

I am so glad that you had a good day. It's so neat that now I can visualize where you are in the room and just how everything looks. It is so much better when you can see people in their home...makes me feel closer to you all.
